EVENTS: Workshop and Networking session held by Istrian Development Agency & Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture

On Thursday and Friday, March 27–28, the first cycle of workshops and networking sessions was held as part of the MISSION4WATER project. The event took place in Pula, Croatia, and was organized by the Istrian Development Agency in collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture from the University of Zagreb.
The agenda began with an introductory presentation on the MISSION4WATER project delivered by Jakov Cipurić, a member of the project team from IDA Ltd. – Presentation Jakov Cipurić
The second presentation was given by Claudia Pučić-Lerotić, who introduced the concept of innovation through the quadruple helix model and provided an overview of available funding opportunities for projects and innovations at both the national and EU levels. She also presented the financing schemes and the current call within the MISSION4WATER project, highlighting the scale of Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) for different types of innovations. – Presentation Claudia Pučić Lerotić
Following this, representatives Patrik Radolović and Luka Žužić from the Polytechnic of Pula introduced the “Jadranko” project—an autonomous vessel designed to collect both micro and macroplastics from the sea using green technologies such as solar panels and rechargeable batteries. – Presentation “Jadranko” Project
On the second day, the program continued with a workshop led by associate professor Stanko Škec from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, focused on developing innovation and solutions targeting the issue of microplastics. In his following presentation, prof. The event provided participants with a valuable opportunity to network, exchange experiences, and explore challenges from various perspectives. This led to fruitful discussions and the emergence of new collaborative ideas. In addition to formal sessions, participants engaged in informal conversations, further contributing to the development of potential partnerships for future initiatives.
